Dr. Edward
R. Chafizadeh is a graduate of Yale University at New Haven,
Connecticut. Next, he graduated with honors from Baylor
College of Medicine in Houston where he received the Upjohn
Award as the top Consultantsal student. He completed his internal
medicine residency at Baylor and was the chief resident at St.
Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Texas. Dr. Chafizadeh
received outstanding resident awards from the Houston Society
of Internal Medicine and Baylor College of Medicine. He
completed his cardiology fellowship at Harvard Medical
School's Beth Israel Hospital where he served as an Instructor
of Medicine in the Department of Cardiology.
Dr. Chafizadeh
is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine
as well as the American Subspecialty Board of Cardiovascular
Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He is fully trained in
general cardiology, including cardiac catheterization, PTCA,
stenting, rotational and directional atherectomy, and balloon
aortic valvuloplasty. He is also certified in nuclear
cardiology. He has served as Chief of the Department of
Cardiology at St. David's Medical Center as well as Committee
Member on their Medical Executive Committee.
Dr. Chafizadeh
is a member of the Travis County Medical Society, Texas
Medical Association, and American Medical
Association.
